Terms of Service
Last updated: 1 November 2026
1. Who we are and when these terms apply
outside/input is a product of Human in the Loop BV, a private limited company registered in Utrecht, the Netherlands (KVKÂ 42088253). In these terms, "we", "us" and "our" refer to Human in the Loop BV. "You" means the organisation that creates an account, and everyone it gives access.
These terms apply to every use of our web application at app.outsideinput.ai, including outside/input: marine, the free first report, demos and every paid subscription. By creating an account or starting a subscription you accept them. Purchase or other terms of your own do not apply unless we agree to them in writing.
How we handle personal data is described in our Privacy Policy. Where these terms and the Privacy Policy overlap, the Privacy Policy is leading for anything about personal data.
2. For professional use only
outside/input is built for professionals: surveyors, appraisers, damage experts and their teams. You may only use it in the course of your business or profession. By accepting these terms you confirm that you are not acting as a consumer. Consumer protection rules, such as the statutory withdrawal period for online purchases, therefore do not apply.
3. Your account
- Each user gets a personal login. Do not share logins; add a user to your organisation instead.
- The person who creates the organisation is its owner. The owner decides who has access, manages the subscription and can download or delete the organisation's data.
- You are responsible for keeping passwords safe and for what happens under your account. Tell us right away at info@outsideinput.ai if you suspect misuse.
- Keep your account and billing details correct. They appear on your invoices and, where you choose, on your reports.
4. Free first report
Every new organisation can create one report for free, without a payment card, to try the full application. During this trial all report types are available. A project that fails because we could not read its source document does not count towards the free report. After the free report, you need a paid subscription to start a new inspection. Reports you already made stay available.
We may give extra free reports, for example during an onboarding call. That is a gesture, not a right for later trials.
5. Subscriptions and prices
The current packages and prices are listed on our pricing page. All prices are in euros and exclude VAT. The price and package you see when you subscribe apply to your subscription.
- Billing period. A monthly subscription is billed in advance and runs from payment date to payment date, not from the first of the month. A yearly plan is billed in advance for twelve months.
- Included reports. Packages with a limit include 13 inspection or valuation reports per billing period. Unused reports do not carry over to the next period. Damage reports are unlimited in every package that includes them.
- Extra reports. When your included reports are used up, you can buy extra ones in the app (currently €25 per inspection report and €15 per valuation report). Extra reports are valid until the end of the current billing period and do not carry over.
- Extra users and add-ons (such as car mode) are billed per month on top of your package, at the price on the pricing page.
- Unlimited means we do not count reports, within reasonable use for the professional practice of the users on your subscription. If use is clearly far beyond that, we will contact you to find a fitting arrangement; we do not block your account without talking to you first. Automated bulk generation and reselling are never reasonable use.
- Onboarding fee and offers. Where an onboarding fee or a promotional offer applies, the pricing page or your quote says so. Offers apply only for the period and conditions stated with them.
6. Payment
Payments are processed by Stripe. By subscribing, you authorise us to charge your payment method at the start of each billing period, and for extra reports when you buy them. Invoices are sent by email and include VAT where applicable; for business customers in other EU countries the reverse-charge mechanism applies when you provide a valid VAT number.
If a payment fails, Stripe will retry it and we will let you know. If the amount remains unpaid, we may suspend access to creating new reports until it is paid. Your existing data is not deleted because of a late payment while we try to resolve it.
7. Price changes
We may change prices and package contents. We announce changes that affect your current subscription at least 30 days in advance by email. They take effect from your next billing period after that notice. If you do not agree, you can cancel before the change takes effect. A yearly plan keeps its price until the end of its term.
8. Cancellation and ending your subscription
- Monthly subscriptions can be cancelled at any time. Email info@outsideinput.ai from the address of the organisation owner. The cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; until then you keep full access.
- Yearly plans run for the full twelve months. Without cancellation they renew for another year. We send you a reminder by email at least 30 days before the renewal date; if you cancel before that date, the plan ends at the end of the term.
- Refunds. Ask for a refund within 48 hours after a subscription payment (including an automatic renewal) and you get it in full, provided you have not started a new report in that billing period. After that, a billing period that has started, unused included reports and bought extra reports are not refunded, unless the law requires otherwise or we did not deliver the service.
- Your data after cancellation. We keep your inspection data for 30 days after your subscription ends, so you can download everything via Settings ("Download al mijn data"). After that it is permanently deleted, as described in section 7 of our Privacy Policy. If you subscribe again within those 30 days, nothing is deleted.
- We may end or suspend your account with immediate effect if you seriously breach these terms, for example by misusing the service or not paying after reminders. Where reasonable, we warn you first and give you a chance to download your data.
9. Your content
Everything you put into outside/input (photos, voice recordings, notes, project details, templates, branding) and the reports that come out of it belong to you. You give us permission to store, process and transform that content only as far as needed to provide the service to you. We do not use it for anything else, and your content is never used to train AI models (see section 4 of our Privacy Policy).
You are responsible for having the right to upload what you upload, such as photos of a client's vessel, a brochure or documents from a third party.
Your reports may contain personal data of your clients or other people. For that data you are the controller and we act as your processor under the GDPR. A data processing agreement (verwerkersovereenkomst) is available on request at privacy@outsideinput.ai.
10. AI output and your professional judgement
outside/input uses AI to transcribe, describe, classify and draft. AI can be wrong: it can misread a photo, mishear a word, miss a defect or phrase a finding too strongly or too weakly.
Every report is a draft until you have checked and approved it. You remain the expert and are fully responsible for the content of every report you sign, send or rely on, including findings, advice, valuations and damage assessments. outside/input does not inspect, value or assess anything itself and does not give professional advice.
11. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the service for anything unlawful or misleading;
- try to access data of other organisations, or test, bypass or overload our security, without our written permission;
- copy, resell or sublicense the service, or use it to build a competing product;
- generate reports in an automated way beyond normal professional use;
- upload malware or content that infringes someone else's rights.
12. Availability, beta features and changes
We work hard to keep outside/input available and your data safe, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. We may need maintenance, and we depend on providers such as Supabase, Vercel, Stripe and AI services.
Features marked "Beta" (such as car mode) are new and may change, behave unexpectedly or be removed. We keep improving the application and may change how features work. We will not remove a core feature of your package during a paid period without offering a fair alternative or the option to cancel.
13. Our intellectual property
The application, its software, design, report templates we provide, and the outside/input name and logo belong to Human in the Loop BV. Your subscription gives you a non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service for your own professional work for as long as your subscription runs. Reports you create with our templates are yours to use without restriction.
If you send us feedback or ideas, we may use them to improve the service without owing you anything.
14. Liability
- Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for the service in the 12 months before the event that caused the damage.
- We are not liable for indirect or consequential damage, such as lost profit, lost revenue, missed assignments, damage to reputation, or claims from your clients.
- We are not liable for damage caused by the content of reports, since you check and approve them yourself (see section 10). The exception is a delivered report that differs from what you approved in the app because of an error on our side; that falls under the cap above.
- We are not liable for failures of third-party services or other circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
- These limits do not apply if the damage is caused by our intent or deliberate recklessness.
- Report any claim to us in writing within 12 months after you discovered the damage, or it lapses.
15. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We announce significant changes by email at least 30 days before they take effect. If you keep using the service after that, the new terms apply. If you do not agree, you can cancel before they take effect. The current version is always on this page, with the date at the top.
16. Governing law and disputes
These terms and every agreement with us are governed by Dutch law. Disputes are brought before the competent court in Utrecht, the Netherlands. We would much rather solve things together first, so please contact us before going that route.
If a provision in these terms turns out to be invalid, the rest remains in force, and we replace that provision with a valid one that comes as close as possible to its intent.
